A young shard, thrown clear of the Thicket and delighted about it. Lime came out of the break with the aspect's appetite and none of its patience, and has shown no sign of developing any.

How Lime races

Lime goes flat out at everything. Ramps, staircases, forks and the run-in: brilliant, because those reward simply going. Funnels, sieves and bumper fields: catastrophic, for exactly the same reason. Lime does not adapt to the track, and the track is drawn fresh every round, so a Lime result is essentially a coin flip decided before the drop.

Maximum commitment into every section, including the ones where commitment is the mistake.

What it costs

The section mix is chosen by the draw, not by Lime. Over a season it averages to nothing at all — Lime's career is enormous variance around a completely ordinary mean.

The tell

The antenna, and a face that gets visibly happier the faster Lime is going, regardless of position. Lime in ninth at full speed looks better than Lime in third being careful.

Lime attacks everything with no idea which sections reward it, and will still be doing exactly that in season four. Pearl is fast precisely because she has not met a section before — and every one she meets, she is a little slower at forever. The same inexperience, and only one of them gets to keep it.

Pearl wins this in the early rounds and loses it, permanently, by about round fifteen.
