The Lantern shard that broke into the most pieces and enjoyed it. Prism's doctrine is to scatter and be at home in it, and Saffron is the only one of the four that means it literally.

How Saffron races

The more Saffron is being hit, the faster Saffron goes. A dense plinko field, a bumper run, an orchard — conditions the rest of the grid is trying to survive are the conditions Saffron is feeding on, and it gains in direct proportion to the chaos. Then the track opens out and Saffron, uniquely, gets slower.

What it costs

A clean track is a bad day. Saffron is the only marble on the grid with a power that is actively negative in the open — a boost ramp and a run-in is, for Saffron, a penalty.

The tell

The sparkle, and a face that gets happier as the frame gets busier. Saffron in a pile-up is the only thing in the shot enjoying itself.

Scatter, and be at home in it. Saffron means it literally — the busier the frame, the faster it goes. Frost regards the whole idea as a failure of standards and runs a single clean line through a team built on chaos. The draw decides which of them is right, every round, and it is never both.

A bumper field is a Saffron day and a Frost disaster. A track with two boost boxes reverses it exactly.
