The shard

Where Saffron comes from

The Lantern shard that broke into the most pieces and enjoyed it. Prism's doctrine is to scatter and be at home in it, and Saffron is the only one of the four that means it literally.

How Saffron races

The more Saffron is being hit, the faster Saffron goes. A dense plinko field, a bumper run, an orchard — conditions the rest of the grid is trying to survive are the conditions Saffron is feeding on, and it gains in direct proportion to the chaos. Then the track opens out and Saffron, uniquely, gets slower.

The signaturePlinko Native

Speed drawn straight out of the contact rate. The busier the frame, the quicker Saffron is.

The voice

Hear Saffron

“bip-bop-bwee-bloo-BEEP!”

Plinko chaos. Every syllable jumps somewhere new, but always in key. Pick a mood and Saffron says it that way.

In the race mix: C6, 1047 Hz. Two oscillators seven cents apart, and each peg contact pitches up a degree until the section ends. A Saffron plinko run is an audible climb.

Rivalry

Saffron vs Frost

Order and Weather

Prism teammates. Only one of them obeys the doctrine.

Scatter, and be at home in it. Saffron means it literally — the busier the frame, the faster it goes. Frost regards the whole idea as a failure of standards and runs a single clean line through a team built on chaos. The draw decides which of them is right, every round, and it is never both.

A bumper field is a Saffron day and a Frost disaster. A track with two boost boxes reverses it exactly.
