INDIGO

The Strategist

Picks a lane at the top and refuses to be talked out of it.

The shard

The Trench shard that was looking at the floor rather than the walls — it kept the part of the deep that is simply commitment, the willingness to stay somewhere no matter what arrives. Indigo chose its lane during the break and has been in it ever since.

I decided at the top. Everything since is just arriving.

INDIGO

How Indigo races

Indigo draws a lane before the drop and drives it to the finish. Not the best lane, not a chosen lane — a lane, decided once, never revisited. When the descent puts a clean chute under it, Indigo is untouchable. When it puts a wall there, Indigo arrives at the wall on schedule and with total conviction.

The signature

Committed

One lane, selected before the race and never re-evaluated, for any reason, at any point.

What it costs

There is no re-evaluation clause. That is not an oversight, it is the character. Indigo will ride a lane into a dead end while a clear route sits one column over, and the whole grid can see it happening.

The tell

Half-closed lids, pinned. Indigo wears the same expression winning, losing, and being flung into a wall.

The voice

Hear Indigo

A flat "NOPE-dut" with both consonants landing like doors. It does not rise, it does not fall, and it does not reconsider.

In the race mix — C4, 262 Hz, The declaration

One note at the drop, transposed by the lane chosen — low is left, high is right. Nothing after it, ever.

Two Ways Not To Steer

One decided everything before the drop. One decides nothing, ever, until after.

Mint MINT

Indigo picks a lane at the top and will not revisit it under any circumstance, including a wall. Mint has no plan whatsoever and responds only to having already lost something. Between them they cover the entire space of not making a decision during a race, and they arrive at the finish in more or less the same place.

On a clean descent Indigo is untouchable and Mint has nothing to react to. On a messy one they swap, completely.
